Again, Hard, Good, Easy

After a flashcard you say how well you knew the word. That one tap tells Wordado when to show the word again.

The four buttons

Press “Show answer”, then choose one button.

  • Again: you did not know the word. It comes back soon, after about ten minutes.
  • Hard: you knew it, but only just. It comes back sooner than after Good.
  • Good: you knew it. It comes back as planned.
  • Easy: you knew it at once. It comes back later than after Good.

Tip: On a keyboard, press Space to show the answer and 1 to 4 to choose a button.

A flashcard in the Wordado app: the English word, its translation and an example sentence, with the buttons Again, Hard, Good and Easy.

Choices and listening

In these questions you do not rate yourself. A right answer counts as Good. A wrong answer counts as Again, and Wordado shows you the right one.

The same kind of question after an answer: the right translation is marked in green.

Slow answers

In choices and listening, a right answer that takes more than 8 seconds counts as Hard. Wordado tells you: “Correct, but slow, so it counts as hard.” Flashcards have no time rule.

Do you need more time? In Settings, under “Studying”, switch off “Count slow answers as ‘hard’”. Then only right or wrong counts.

How the gaps grow

Each time you remember a word, the gap before its next review gets longer: first days, later weeks. When you forget a word, it comes back soon.

In Settings, under “Studying”, “How firmly to remember” makes reviews come less often (Relaxed) or more often (Intensive).
